***Another
customer of ours had the car before Paul took possession
of this super clean 1998. The former owner had a
Maximum Velocity Motorsports Head Package installed
some time back with other bolt-on parts such as
an exhaust and intake.
***After Paul took
possession of this car, he decided that he wanted
more, much like everyone else does. At the time,
the car had a little more than 151,000 miles on
the clock. So Paul came to us with his plans in
mind and we put together a kit that he and the car
could grow into. Paul did not want to build the
bottom end just yet! Future plans are revolving
around a full build, so we decided to buy the right
parts the first time. No one wants to pay for injectors,
custom exhaust and charge piping twice.
***Some of the custom
parts for this kit are available through other vendors,
but our shop’s flexibility and diversity allow
us to make higher quality parts in house. We would
much rather sell our own brand because we know our
quality and craftsmanship is second to none and
keeps our customers coming back.
***This kit revolves
around a Precision T3/T4 turbo. Maximum Velocity
Motorsports fabricated a custom stainless steel,
log style, exhaust manifold to hang the turbo and
Tial 38mm Wastegate on. This beautiful kit continues
with a custom stainless steel, fully wrapped, 3
inch downpipe. The remaining exhaust is comprised
of full 3 inch stainless steel piping. Wrapping
up at the back of this work of art is a Vibrant
stainless steel 3 inch inlet muffler. The exhaust
note of this system is music to a sport compact
enthusiasts ears. The sound is mellow and not overly
aggressive, but definitely means business. To conceal
the intercooler, we have added a thin film of flat
black paint. Paul wanted a stealthy look so the
kit was designed with this in mind. In fact, if
you are outside the car, you would really have to
listen and look to realize this was not just another
average Prelude.
***This car features
the Hondata S300 on an OBD1 P28. The result was
230.9 WHP on Dyno Dynamics Dyno at 9 psi on 93 octane
pump gas. Comparable numbers on a Dynojet Dyno would
be approximately 265 to 275 WHP.
*** The car is a true
work of art; please check out the additional pictures
of this project. If you have any questions about
the build or comments please give us a call, we
would love to have your feedback here at Maximum
Velocity Motorsports.
Thank You!
